Design Challenge
This was a class project for all senior graphic design students. Our task was to design an engaging and cohesive event identity across media that announces our 2024 Senior Show. It must celebrate the Visual Arts and Graphic Design senior capstone work and experiences. The design must clearly inform, create a call to action, and capture the spirit of PLNU and its graduates.
Solution
“Going the Distance” draws inspiration from sports. I wanted a message that everyone in the senior class and audience could relate to. Blending these two ideas together represents our journey to professional life. This creative direction captures the essence of perseverance and achievement through bold customized typography, dynamic shapes, and a high-energy color palette. These hand-cut paper shapes were scanned and used to create visual containers for the lead message. The results are uplifting and playful. This senior capstone event identity is cohesively applied to key communication touchpoints.
